I’m researching hair clinics, not booked anything yet. Reading about Turkey Thailand Europe seeing the same doctor names thrown around. Pekiner Ratchathorn Demircioglu Bek Laorwong Keser Bisanga Couto, stuff like that. Price part is what gets me, around 4 euros per graft, some a bit cheaper. Some fixed price, but still with limits.
Been checking the budget clinics too, Vera Smile Cinik Sule Cosmedica. Prices are like 2.5k to 5k, tempting quotes. But they end up in the possible hair mill bucket too, so hard to ignore. Maybe some people get lucky, idk. Still feels way too hit or miss for surgery on your head. Not saying they are all the same. Maybe a few are better than the rest, maybe for some people saving money makes the risk feel worth it, idk. But with these places answers start sounding like hotel transfer package, limited offer, discount, whatsapp coordinator stuff, sometimes a 3k quote ten minutes after photos.
Doctor clinics feel like another world, slower, more questions donor preservation, age appropriate hairline, medical treatments Finasteride Minoxidil, not just template price back. Still trying to understand where the actual line is between hair mill and a clinic with a real surgeon actually involved.
I saw this post while going through hair transplant stuff and it kinda ruined my evening tbh, photos’re rough. I went through them a few times because I wasnt even sure what I was seeing at first. Doesnt look like just a weak hairline or poor growth. Thick dark crusting, then after it comes off his scalp has these red dents.
He’s around three weeks in and says he saw multiple drs. Still somehow nobody gave him a clear answer early enough. People are saying necrosis infection poor blood flow scarring. Maybe it heals better than it looks. But this is still not just, my transplant failed so I shave my head and move on. Weeks of panic, maybe a mark there forever, maybe trying to fix it later with another hair transplant.
The weirdest part for me is he still wont name the clinic. People keep asking him, because obviously if someone is booked there next week they need to know. I get why people are annoyed. But I also kinda get why he’s not saying it. He’s still talking with them. Maybe they are promising to fix it. Maybe if he names clinic they stop helping. So now he’s stuck staying quiet, still needing something from them. Scary part I could see myself being that guy too, scares me.
I keep thinking the part after fly home. You just have a whatsapp chat and a coordinator saying wait, use cream, dont worry. If the doctor barely saw you, or its a clinic doing many surgeries a day with different teams who owns this problem. Who actually says this happened under my plan and ill deal with it properly. This is the part I get stuck on as someone still looking.
I dont want the 3k all inclusive hair mill thing. Feels like asking for trouble. But I also dont know if I can justify paying over 10k either. Then flights are another thing too, from the US it can be around 1.5k round trip. Im looking at Turkey and Thailand cheaper than the US, but not I want absolute cheapest possible. Im trying to find something more like 6k to 9k. A hair transplant doctor properly involved, not rushing through a bunch of people the same day, because if im flying that far I dont want to be one of ten heads in the clinic, someone actually responsible, but still not crazy expensive.
There has to be some middle ground somewhere, but its hard to know whats real and whats just marketing. I feel really bad for the guy. Hope it heals better than it looks. But this is why mills scare me now. Its not only about maybe getting a bad result. If something really goes wrong, you may be alone.
